Jollibee Foods Corporation, Asia's second-largest restaurant group, committed to 100% cage-free eggs by 2035 across 6,300 restaurants globally. Lever's 2024 Scorecard reveals 62% of mid to large-sized restaurant chains have established timelines for eliminating caged eggs.

Lever Fuels Growth of Asia's Alternative Protein Startups

Lever Foundation's strategic funding and guidance has enabled significant growth for alternative protein companies across Asia throughout 2024. Malaysia's Gaia Eats increased sales by 50% after receiving Lever's support, while Hong Kong's Good Food Technologies secured partnerships with Cathay Pacific Airways, IKEA, and major retail chains. These targeted investments help expand sustainable food options while supporting local economic development across the region.

Lever China's Work Ends Cage Confinement for 651,000 Hens

Through sustained engagement by Lever China, six producers have initiated first-time cage-free transitions in 2024, with major processed egg suppliers leading the change. Luxue committed to transitioning 50,000 hens to cage-free systems, while Jinyi has already shifted 40,000 hens. Established adopters are expanding commitments, with Happy Egg adding 110,000 cage-free hens, while Tudama and Pianguan Yongao each reached milestones of 200,000 cage-free hens across their facilities.

Lever Foundation has expanded digital outreach across Asia in 2024, addressing information gaps about plant-based food and farm animal welfare. In China, Lever's WeChat and NewProtein.cn platform published 250+ news stories with 850,000 reads, while Southeast Asian campaigns generated over 139 million impressions across multiple countries. These highly efficient digital initiatives deliver exceptional reach, with every $1,000 in ad spend generating over seven million content views of compelling plant-based and farm animal content.
